The impact of a mobile OS is measured by the application support it has. And Windows Phone 7 is fast approaching a point where it will send tingling sensations down Google's and Apple's spine. The marketplace for Windows Phone has now surpassed 40,000 applications. It has been the fastest growing app store in the last 12 months beating the likes of the Android Marketplace and Apple App Store.
An estimate 165 applications are added to the marketplace every day. And with the recent Mango update and Nokia hopping on board with their much loved Limua 800, expect the number to grow even further as more 2nd gen handsets hit the stores. Most of the much needed apps available on Android and iOS are now available on Windows Phone which includes Spotify, IM+, WhatsApp etc.
