WhatsApp Hits 1.5 Billion Monthly Active User Mark In Q4 2017
Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg disclosed some financials on Wednesday, stating that WhatsApp's monthly active users have climbed up since they were last recorded, reaching a hefty 1.5 billion mark. Initially, WhatsApp was a standalone platform. In 2014, Facebook acquired WhatsApp for $19 billion which market the biggest acquisition to date. Since that time, the company has been keenly working to enhance the platform with numerous features and functionalities.
At the time of acquisition, the platform only had 450 million monthly active users and 315 monthly active users. Other stats shared by Mark Zuckerberg include the daily number of messages each day, which is an astonishing 60 billion mark.
