iOS 10.2 Beta Packs an Interesting Bunch of Changes - Includes New Wallpapers, Video Widget & More

Given the big version number, one would expect iOS 10.2 to pack quite a lotof changes under the hood. But the update focuses on the little things instead yet make up for an interesting update for users.

Released yesterday for developers, here's a list of things that are new in iOS 10.2 Beta:

New Video widget for accessing video content from anywhere in iOS.A bunch of new wallpapers for iPhone 7 & iPhone 7 Plus users.New Preserve Settings for Camera app allowing you to retain your last setting used instead of jumping into Photo by default.You can now add emergency contacts in Health app while setting up your Medical ID.Brand new Celebrate effect in Messages app.New Unicode 9 emoji characters.

That's about it from the initial release of iOS 10.2, and it's likely things will stay this way up till the final release of the firmware update. But there is also a possibilityApple might end up adding or removing features from the update as well, hence we will inform our readers about it if that happens.

Apart from the changes above there's a high chance Apple has packed a lot of bug fixes and performance related enhancements as well. But of course, we can't experience them right away as the firmware is currently in beta. Also, do not be surprised if you experience bad battery life on your device once you install the beta on it. Such things happen with pre-release software.

It's worth mentioning here again that iOS 10.2 is currently available for registered developers only. This means those without an Apple Developer Program account are not able to try out the latest beta build from Apple. But we are certain Apple will make the update available for public testers as well, giving everyone a chance to test out the firmware free of cost. This is something Apple has been doing for a long time, and would be strange if it decides to break tradition all of a sudden.

If you want to give iOS 10.2 a spin right now then make sure you are registered with Apple as a developer. Also make sure you install the new firmware on a device that is not your daily driver.
