It has beenofficiallyconfirmed by Telus that the new HTC Desire will be available in Canada, Although the launch date and price have not been confirmed. The Andriod phone is “only from Telus”, so Rogers and Bell will not get the smartphone.

The HTC Desire has been titled as the hottest phone of 2010 at the Mobile Magazine’s 2010 Mobile IndustryAwards. The phone has a 3.7inches WVGA AMOLED Touchscreen,Sense UI (with 7 customizable homescreens), 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, GPS, 5MP autofocus camera, and MicroSD card support.

The phone is said to run onAndroid2.1 but an Android 2.2 Froyo has been promised.
