Google is not just getting heat for failing to rid the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL of their problems. The tech giant has also been slapped with a class-action lawsuit by Pixel and Pixel XL owners for failing to fix the microphone defects present in the 2016 flagship family.

Plaintiffs Have Said That Google Knew About the Problems Present in the Pixel but Failed to Fix Them

According to the Pixel and Pixel XL owners, Google was aware of the problems existing in the stock-Android running lineup of devices but still sold them such phones, though Google claims that it was aware of these issues starting March last year. The plaintiffs also said that these problems occurred on their own. For example, the microphone defects would occur depending on how the smartphone was being held or how hot it was getting.

Since these problems also went away on their own and almost immediately, the plaintiffs did not feel that they had to follow Google’s smartphone warranty as it would also mean that they would be without their daily drivers for an extended period of time. However, you should also be notified that despite getting these devices repaired using an approach that has not been detailed in Google’s warranty program, the microphone defects continued to persist.

While it is common for a consumer electronic item such as this to start developing problems down the road, it is high time that Google introduces better after-sales customer service to better facilitate those who have spent a great deal of money on these expensive mobile computing products.

Here is another fun fact for you; the class-action lawsuit managed to get filed by Girard Gibbs LLP, which is the same law firm that exercised the lawsuit against Google and the problems present in the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. The tech giant has currently not provided on what is going to be the next step to appease the customers of the 2016 flagship smartphone family, but we’ll keep you updated in the long run.
