Apart from releasing the developer oriented beta of OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan earlier this week, Apple pushed out the third public beta build of its pre-release desktop software as well, and we'll show you how to download it right away on your Mac.
Apple is releasing beta software for developers and testers at an alarmingly high pace. For instance, Apple released the third beta of iOS 9.2 to developers and testers both earlyon this week, and raised the bar a little higher when the company also released OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan beta 3 and tvOS 9.1 beta 2 soon after. With OS X 10.11.2 public beta testers left out in the cold, Apple today saw it fit to release the updated piece of software to those enrolled in the Beta Software Program.
Downloading the new public beta build is, as usual, as easy as it ever can be. Start off with connecting your Mac to the Internet using WiFi or Ethernet, then launch the Mac App Store. At the top you will see a bunch of options, click on the one that says 'Updates' on the far right. The Mac App Store will now refresh and will present to you all the available downloads for your Mac, with the third beta of OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan being one of them. Simply download and install and you're good to go.
It's also worth pointing out here that the installation process requires you to restart your Mac, so make sure that you save all your work related stuff before clicking on that 'Update' button. You don't want to end up accidentally losing all your data just because of one beta update.
If you haven't installed OS X 10.11.2 beta already then getting to grips with it is a walk in the park, as the public beta of the software is absolutely free for users around the globe to try out. Simply head over to this link for a complete step by step guide on how to get started with it.
