We've got approximately two months left before Google launches the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL and rumors for both the gadgets (especially the latter) are taking place regularly. Right now, more details have surfaced for the Pixel 3 XL as compared to Pixel 3. We've listed the information chronologically and will continue to update the post as new information surfaces.

With the original Pixels, Google made a semi-strong entry into the flagship smartphone market, especially as it was riding on the Nexus 6P's wave. However, as the Pixels have grown, their primary differentiating factor in the market remains camera performance. Will Google finally dare to move away from its software-based strengths on the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL?

We don't think so, but things change fast in the tech world. With that in mind, here's everything that has surfaced so far on the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL on the rumor mill.

8/22/18:Continuing with a nearly daily trend of leaks, the Google Pixel 3 XL is back today. Google will rue the day when it lost a test unit of the larger smartphone that has already surfaced in unboxing videos and other leaks below. Now, we've got the first samples for the Google Pixel 3 XL courtesy of Khroshev.

While the Pixel lineup delivers only satisfactory computing performance, the lineup's true gift is its rear camera setup. Google truly showcases its software strengths on the feature and as a result, the Pixel lineup consistently ranks as one of, if not the, best camera smartphones out there. This trend will be continued at least by the larger Pixel, judging by today's images.

While they've been taken by someone with more experience in photography than the average users, this fact alone does not account for the fantastic results. The Pixel 3 XL excels at sharpness and color balance, as no details are left out in any image. Color reproduction is fantastic as well alongside saturation levels - both factors which are evident in the last photograph of a parrot.

However, low-light photography might require some adjustments as details seem to be left out unnecessarily.

8/21/18:Google's office in Richmond St. Canada really needs to get its act together, as another Pixel 3 XL image has graced the internet. Similar to the one you see below, it's also from public transportation and just might be the same device.

However, the image is more clear than what surfaced before and gives us a detailed look at its front and back. The notch is as huge as initially expected and Google will definitely take some flak for it. The back of the Pixel 3 XL shows similar sensor arrangement and slight design refinements such as curved corners for the top black half.

8/16/18: In a rather good example of unintentional espionage, a MobileSyrup reader from Toronto, Canada is able to snap a photo of the Pixel 3 XL being used publicly. The image, which you can see above, shows that the on the status bar, time is displayed along with the battery icon on the left side of the notch.

Gesture navigation is also present and the Pixel 3 XL's large and unsightly chin combined with its tall notch gives the device a distinct look. Additionally, bezels for the smartphone appear to be the same size as those for the Pixel 2 XL.

10/8/18:The same device that featured in the previous unboxing video of the Pixel 3 XL has now surfaced in another video. This time, the leak concerns itself primarily with specifications, and a strange Antutu listing. The benchmark app shows a triple-front camera setup for the Pixel 3 XL, which is most likely an error as we've seen physical evidence suggest otherwise.

The bottom SIM card tray and a green sleep/wake button are also visible in the video Additionally, the video confirms that this Pixel 3 XL variant is not the final version, as it has been upgraded to Android P (1:36) rather than run the software out of the box. A battery capacity of 3430mAh is also visible.

8/8/18:In the day's second leak, which is perhaps the biggest for the Pixel 3 XL yet, we're treated to the device's unboxing and live images, which also display its specifications. We're once again treated to a White Pixel 3 XL, five days after a similar device leaked via XDA developers. This one is complete with a retail package, so speculation for it being in EVT stage doesn't hold strong merit.

The leak pretty much confirms everything that has surfaced so far for the Pixel 3 XL. We can see the display notch clearly, the front facing speakers are present, and so is the single rear camera. Pixel 3 XL Benchmarks Show Satisfactory Performance As An Advertisement From Google Lists Launch Date For October 4th

8/8/18:A benchmark for the Pixel 3 XL surfaces on Chinese benchmark Master Lu. The listing shows the device with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 and 4GB of RAM. The Pixel 3 XL scores 54,672 points in the CPU tests and 106,711 points in the GPU tests, putting the gadget at the high end of CPU performance results for the test. Surprisingly, the Adreno 630 is unable to stretch its wings fully, as you can see in the aggregate scores above (courtesy of ITW01).

8/7/18:Google proceeds to launch Android P and while the launch alone does not provide us with specific details for the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, comments from Google's manager for Android User Interface for the Pixel lineup, EK Chung, do.

According to Chung, Google's decision to remove the multitasking button on Android P will be enabled by default on all upcoming devices and those running the software out of the box. Do we take this to mean that the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will not feature the multitasking button? Perhaps, but Google's culture rarely makes such sweeping and definitive moves.

8/5/18:In an advertisement spotted by Brandon Lee of This Is Tech Today, Google itself has inadvertently shared the launch date for the upcoming Pixel 3 lineup. The devices are set to launch on October 4th according to the advertisement, with the date following in line with Google's earlier launch schedules.

The FameBit advertisement intends for promoters to make the switch to the Pixel 3 and describe the experience to users - hopefully managing to persuade them to a switch.

8/3/18:After a brief pause, Ice_Universe is back, this time with the first benchmark leak for Google's Pixel 3 XL. GeekBench results for the device show a 2426 score in single and an 8355 score in multi-core tests; failing to cross the Apple iPhone X and barely keeping up with Android flagships that are already present in the market.

They also show 4GB of RAM for the smartphone, in an era where 8GB has become the norm for several manufacturers. While Google's stock Android without external skins will help save up memory, the 10nm Snapdragon 845 and heavy multitasking needs will require more memory from the smartphone.

Given that the live gadget leaks we've witnessed so far demonstrate a Pixel 3 XL that's undergoing EVT (Engineering Validation Testing), there's plenty of time for Google to make specification changes and hopefully, the company will also increase RAM on the Pixel 3 XL.

Consistent Live Image Leaks For The Pixel 3 XL, And Renders For The Lineup Confirm Key Design Details Including A Dual Front Camera Setup And Display Notch

7/29/18:This time it's the white variant of the Pixel 3 XL which has leaked in four images. They confirm the gadget's display notch, front-facing speakers, a single rear camera, a new Google logo, and a carry forward of the lineup's customary two-tone back design.

More importantly, the source of this leaks shares that the back of this smartphone is made of a single piece of glass, despite the dual-tone being clearly visible. The bootloader confirms that the Pixel 3 XL's codename isCrosshatch, with 4GB RAM making another appearance. If the back of this device really is all glass, then the stars are definitely starting to align for wireless charging on the Pixel 3 XL.

7/27/18:As if the last leak wasn't enough, more renders this time for the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL's cases have surfaced. They confirm all previous details and some of the images can be viewed in the gallery below. You can take a look at the rest here.

6/27/18:Steve Hemmerstoffer's back and he's got a lot of Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL renders for us today (33 to be exact). His renders that are based on accurate details provide for a 360-degree view of the smartphone.

They suggest that the Pixel 3 will have slimmer bezels over the Pixel 2 and confirm a dual front camera setup for the smartphone. The front sensor and microphone placement for the Pixel 3 also resembles earlier leaked screen panel, providing further credibility to the information.

The renders also confirm that the Pixel 3 XL will feature a display notch, falling in line with Steve's and Ice_Universe's earlier leaks. They also display front-facing speakers for both smartphones and provide details for dimensions. According to this leak, the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will measure145.6x68.2x7.9mm and158x76.6x7.9mm respectively, marking for little changes over their predecessors.

6/18/18:In a render that resembles earlier leaked Pixel 3 XL images, Ice_Universe has shared a render of the Pixel 3 XL. This also shows a single rear camera, a display notch, and a thick chin, corroborating nearly every external detail for the Pixel 3 XL that has leaked so far.

Google's decision to introduce such a definitive notch on the smartphone will not go down well with users but they might look over it if the company also uses the dual front cameras for a standout, differentiating features (such as 3D facial recognition).

Pixel 3 And Pixel 3 XL Might Feature Wireless Charging Suggests Firmware Investigation As Leaks For The Larger Gadget's Tall Notch Continue To Build

6/8/18:In addition to leaking images for the Pixel 3 XL, XDA has also carried out some diligent digging into Android P. What they've discovered is evidence that Google is 'dogfooding' a new wireless charging app for the software update.

The app, which is calleddreamliner, includes support for wireless charging docks and the permission for this is granted viacom.google, which is reserved solely for Google's own apps. Finally, the information also suggests that multiple manufacturing partners might be involved in making wireless docks for the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL.

6/8/18: In its first live image leak, the Google Pixel 3 XL is the subject of eight leaked images. These confirm the tall notch for the device, single rear camera sensor, and Google's customary two-tone design for the Pixel lineup. They also confirm the absence of a 3.5mm earphone jack and mention 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage for the smartphone.

They also show a new Google logo on a back that appears to be manufactured of the same materials as the current Pixel 2 XL. Of course, we're hoping that the latter bit about materials isn't true as Google really needs to understand that a flagship upgrade involves all of a gadget's aspects. A final change that's visible is for the Pixel 3 XL's SIM card slot that's now at the bottom. Finally, the source of the images also suggests that the material at the back of the Pixel 3 XL is glass - opening up the possibility of wireless charging.

6/7/18: In his second leak for the Pixel 3 lineup, Steve now shares details for the larger Pixel 3 XL's notch with a diagram. According to his details, the Pixel 3 XL's chin will be 8.8mm tall, while it's top notch will only be slightly shorter, measuring 8.1mm in length. The device will be 6.2" wide, similar to its predecessor, the Pixel 2 XL. The dual front camera setup is also clearly visible in the image that he's shared.

6/3/18: Famed tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer shares some details for the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL which echo previous leaks.

According to Steve, the Pixel 3 will feature a 5.3" display and the Pixel 3 XL will feature a 6.2" front panel. Additionally, he corroborates earlier information by disclosing that only the Pixel 3 XL will feature a display notch.

5/31/18:Bloomberg's Mark Gurman becomes one of the first to break news on the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. According to him, while the Pixel 3 will mostly resemble the Pixel 2, the Pixel 3 XL will feature an edge to edge display, a display notch, and a chin.

The chin is to ensure that the smartphones feature stereo speakers at the front. The Pixel 3 XL will feature a dual front camera setup and both the devices will continue to carry single camera sensors at the back.

5/30/18:Notorious (and mysterious) tipster Ice_Universe reveals details for the Pixel 3 XL's display panels. According to him, the panels will be manufactured by LG Display. This might end up as problematic as LG's faced problems with OLED manufacturing in the past.

5/28/18:In the first major component leak for the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, the lineup's front protectors 'surface' on the Chinese social network Weibo, on an account that isn't very active. They show the larger Pixel 3 XL with a display notch, and both of the devices with a dual front camera setup. Maybe Google's cooking up something similar to Face ID?

10/24/17:The first leak for the Google Pixel 3 lineup reveals nothing more than its codenames. An insider source and Google's AOSP revel three new codenames. The source reveals three internal devices dubbed as Albacore, Crosshatch, andBlueline.The AOSP, which you can see above, mentions Crosshatch, and a new device dubbed asWahoo; making for a startling four smartphones.
