Microsoft has released a brand new app for iPhone that lets a user identify a dog breed using the device's onboard camera.

It's absolutely mind boggling what apps are capable of doing these days. From simple note-takers to apps like GarageBand that transform your iPhone or iPad into a mini music studio, it's inevitable that the ball will keep on rolling and innovation will keep on pouring in, thanks to the hard work of developers. Now, Microsoft is taking things up a notch a little by releasing a new app for iPhone users, called Fetch!, which lets you simply point your iPhone's camera at a dog, and the app in turn will tell you details regarding what breed it is.

Fetch!, a Microsoft Garage project, recognizes dogs and classifies them by their breed.

Just for fun we include a mode that lets you find out what dog breeds you and your friends are.

There’s also an extension collection of breeds that contains information such as disposition, size, coat and what types of families are best suited for each.

This is the kind of app you’re going to take out when you’re with your friends. You’ll make fun of each other, comparing which breeds you look like, and posting the tagged photos.
