Lenovo Yoga 720: A Budget-Friendly 2-in-1 Laptop That Impresses
Thanks to Lenovo's expertise in crafting 2-in-1 laptops, you can now get a relatively inexpensive machine that doesn't feel cheap. The $750 Lenovo Yoga 720 may not be the slickest 2-in-1 Lenovo's made this year, but it offers excellent value for the price.
Performance: Surprisingly Capable
Despite its budget-friendly price, the Yoga 720 performs admirably. On WebXPRT 2015, a synthetic benchmark that tests web browsing, image processing, and spreadsheet handling, the Yoga 720 scored 400, putting it on par with laptops that cost twice as much. However, it fell slightly behind in Geekbench 4's multi-core test, where its score of 7402 lagged behind pricier competitors.
Battery Life: Decent, but Not Exceptional
The Yoga 720's battery life is decent, lasting 8 hours and 11 minutes in our video streaming test. While it's not the best battery life you'll find in a laptop, it's more than enough to get you through a day of work or school.
Display: Gorgeous for the Price
Cheaper laptops often have ugly displays, but the Yoga 720's 13.3-inch 1080p touch display is surprisingly gorgeous for the price. It offers rich, deep blacks and vibrant colors, making it a pleasure to watch movies or work on creative projects.
Build Quality: Solid, but Not Premium
The Yoga 720 is incredibly thin and light for a laptop this cheap, weighing just 2.9 pounds and measuring just 0.6 inches at its thickest point. However, it does have some flex at the center of the keyboard, which is common on cheaper laptops. Additionally, the vents for its cooling fans are so big that I'd worry about stuff finding its way in.
Keyboard: Mushy and Disappointing
The Yoga 720's keyboard is perhaps its weakest point. The
