The cat and mouse game between the hackers and Apple continues over the untethered jailbreak for iOS 5. Pod2g, a hacker that is tirelessly working to defeat Apple in this race earlier released a video showing iOS 5 untethered jailbreak running on iPhone 4 and other devices. Now he has something more interesting for you. This time it’s the iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak that is running on an iPhone 4.
Pod2g has been working for quite some time now on iOS 5 untethered jailbreak. He has managed to successfully stabilize the jailbreak on both iOS 5 and iOS 5.0.1 on iPhone 4 but iPhone 4S is yet to follow. Earlier in November Pod2g discovered an exploit in iOS 5 that led him to develop an untethered jailbreak on iPhone 4 and that similar exploit was present in iOS 5.0.1 which helped him in the development of iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak on iPhone 4 of whom he has posted a video shown below. That means iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak is all set for iPhone 4 users.
But what about iPhone 4S and iPad 2 users? According to a recent update on his iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak update blog he mentioned that iPhone 4S jailbreak yet requires a lot of testing before it can go for a public release but iPhone 4 is almost ready for a public release. This means that things are done for iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPad 1 users who will see an iOS 5.0.1 jailbreak soon but iPhone 4S and iPad 2 users will have to wait a bit more for the good news. Obviously (in my opinion) the jailbreak will arrive at the same time for all the devices but for which devices but some sources say that iPhone 4 might be getting it as a Christmas present.
Also iPhone 4 and iPad 2 can be downgraded to 4.3.3 using your saved blobs by following this guide HERE, so that you can enjoy an untethered jailbreak as there was no untethered jailbreak for iOS beyond 4.3.3, namely Jailbreak Me 3.0.
