iOS 12 Beta for iPad has made some tweaks to the gestures and UI we are accustomed to on the tablet. Needless to say that Apple's upcoming tablet will get the iPhone X treatment later this year.
Swipe Down from the Top Right Hand Corner for Control Center, Swipe Up from the Bottom to Go Home on iPad
iOS 12 Beta includes some interesting changes in many different corners and on the iPad things are getting really interesting. In fact, if you take a closer look at what the new update brings to the Cupertino tablet, it's safe to deduce that the upcoming model might give up the Home button completely.
The new gestures for going back home includes swiping up from the bottom of the display, just like the iPhone X. But that's not all, if you swipe up till the middle of the display and hold your finger for a second, you are met with the multitasking view, just like the iPhone X. What's even more interesting is that you swipe down from the top right hand corner of the display to get into Control Center, again like the iPhone X. If these aren't signs that point towards a Home button-less iPad, then we don't know what are.
But wait, it gets even better. If you've used an iPhone X, you already know that the time and signal bars have been moved to the left and right of the display, respectively, to make room for the notch. In iOS 12 Beta for the iPad, we see the same treatment. Therefore it's highly possible that the upcoming tablet will have an edge-to-edge display as well as a notch at the top for Face ID. But obviously, we're speculating hard at this point though the signs all point in that direction.
It's pretty obvious that Apple is going to announce new 'Pro' tablets later this year alongside new iPhones. And it will be a matter of time we get more or a leaked glimpse of the tablet in one form or the other. Until then, you have this little nugget to live with.
