Here's how you can record videos in 4K using your brand new iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus.

iPhone 6s 2

If you boughtan iPhone 6s or the iPhone 6s Plus lately, you'll be pleased to learn that the devices can shoot video in 4K resolution. But strangely enough, the default recording resolution, set by Apple, is 1080p, which means you can't shoot 4K videos right out of the box. But don't fret, we'll show you how you can change that and always record videos in crystal clear, 4K resolution.

How To Record 4K Videos On iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus

1. On your iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus, launch the Settings app from your home screen.

2. Now scroll down a little until you see the option labelled 'Photos & Camera.' Tap on it to open.

That's it, you're done. The next time you launch the stock Camera app to record a video, you can rest assured that everything will be reeled in at 4K resolution. Also keep in mind that if you happen to have a 16GB device, then be vary of the fact that 4K will use up a lot of onboard storage. And as you can see from the last screenshot above, a minute of 4K video will take up 375MB on your device. If storage is precious to you, then we recommend reverting to the 720p or 1080p options.

Having taken our iPhone 6s for a spin and recording 4K videos, we have to admit that the device is capable of churning out some extremely high quality footage. But quite honestly, having the 4K option is somewhat redundant especially if you don't have a 4K display or panel at home to view your footage on. Otherwise, it's a handy feature nonetheless.

There are a lot of great features and tidbits littered in and aroundthe iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, and slowly and gradually, we'll highlight all of them in the days and weeks to come so stay tuned to our coverage.
