Touch ID taking several attempts to recognize your fingerprint on iPhone, iPad? Here's how you can increase its accuracy in no time.
As you keep on using your iPhone or iPad, you'll realize that the Touch ID fingerprint sensor takes couple of attempts at times to unlock your device or authorize purchases. It's actually pretty annoying when you face such an issue, and there are several reasons why this might happen. For example, you have a greasy thumb naturally and whenever you access your device using Touch ID, your iPhone or iPad instantly throws a 'nope' at you. But there's an instant way to fix all of that, and it's somewhat of a lazy workaround to say the least. Here's how it goes.
How To Increase Touch ID Accuracy On iPhone, iPad
Assuming that you already have a fingerprint registered for use with Touch ID on your iPhone or iPad, let's begin.
1. Launch the Settings app.
2. Now tap on 'Touch ID & Passcode.'
3. Under 'Fingerprints' you'll see how many fingers you have registered for use with Touch ID. Assuming you have only your thumb registered to be used with Touch ID, tap on 'Add a Fingerprint' and register the very same thumb once again. If you have your index finger of your right hand already registered, then register it once again. Basically, you're going to register your already registered finger once more with Touch ID without removing the first entry.
That's it, you're all done and set. Whenever you unlock your device or authorize an App Store or iTunes purchase, you'll notice that Touch ID is much more quicker to respond and works like brand new once again. And yes, you can register the same fingerprint thrice if you so wish. The option is there, and it definitely works its wonders.
With time, Touch ID does feel a little slow and clunky, and we highly recommend that you keep a cloth with you at all times to keep the sensor as clean as possible on your device so that it registers a fingerprint every single time without any sort of problem.
On the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, Apple has taken things to the next level, thanks to the second-generation Touch ID sensor, which is able to read fingerprints far more quicker than before. But if you have a greasy thumb or finger, then you know what to do.
