Installing iOS and iPadOS updates is usually a simple and seamless process. Thanks to over-the-air update support, users can download a software update on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch by simply going to Settings > General > Software Update. However, sometimes things might not go as planned and an ‘Unable to Check for Update’ error might show up. This could happen due to a number of reasons. Here are a few methods to fix this error.
Fixing Unable to Check For Update on iOS 13.1.2 and iPadOS 13.1.2
Whether you are on iOS 12, iOS 13 or iPadOS13, if you see this error, you can follow the below steps to resolve it.

You may want to try Cloudflare’s 1.1.1.1 or Google’s 8.8.8.8 DNS addresses to see if it helps.Try disable and enabling your Wi-Fi.Try connecting to another network and see if the error goes away.
Check Apple’s System Status

Alternatively, you can also manually download the ISPW firmware file for your device and install it using iTunes. This can be done without losing any data. You would have to follow the same steps as listed above, but when clicking on ‘Check for Update’, do the following:
