Every now and then a user will hit a dead end during usage of the aforementioned devices, forcing them to take critical measures to makethings right again. We might perform a hard reset of the device at hand, or even take the route of freshly restoring our gadget. But is that all necessary? Well,if you have a problem, then yes.

Force Close the Camera App and Launch Again

This usually fixes the issue immediately, and should be your first port of call. Simply double click on the Home button to bring up the app switcher, and then swipe up on the Camera app to close it down completely. Now launch the Camera app again from the home screen, and everything should work just fine.

Perform a Hard Reset

Forcing a reset on your device helps in a lot of cases too. Just hold down the Power and Home buttons for a few seconds till the screen goes blank. When you see the Apple logo, let go of the buttons.

Update to the Latest Version of iOS

Updating to the latest version of iOS helps in many cases too. But if you are on older firmware because you jailbreak, then you might want to ignore this step completely.

You can update over the air by heading over to Settings > General > Software Update.

Clear the RAM

Performance related issues can freeze up the camera, therefore clearing up the RAM should fix things for you. Just press down on the Power button to bring up the power down screen. Let go of the Power button and hold down the Home button till the power down screen goes away. This is an indication that the RAM has been flushed.

Restore Your iPhone or iPad

Take Your iPhone or iPad to Apple

If the problem persists after performing everything mentioned above, then it's likely that you are suffering form a hardware related issue. That's something which Apple will likely fix for free given your device is under warranty, and of course, doesn't violate their warranty guidelines.
