How to Display Status Bar in iOS When Inside a Folder-October 2024
Oct 18, 2024 1:29 AM

Thanks to a jailbreak tweak called FolderStatus, the status bar will always remainvisible if you are inside a folder in iOS.

Can't See the Status Bar While Inside a Folder? Don't Worry, FolderStatus is Here to Change All That

Apple has taken some oddand wonderful steps while designing its software to make it look good in corners where we least expect it to be. Take a look at that home screen, for example, as soon as you pull down on it, everything blurs out to reveal Spotlight search, with the keyboard jumping straight up so you can type away anything you like. But same can't be said when it comes to folders though. See, while they do serve their function in the most brilliant way you can imagine, they tend to obscure everything else when in view. In case you haven't noticed, as soon as you tap on a folder, the status bar simply disappears while blurring everything out. It's likely Apple has made this decision to make folders look good. But for some users, it can be an eyebrow raiser. If it is, and you happen to have a jailbroken device, then you will be pleased to learn that a simple tweak called FolderStatus can fix everything in one fell swoop.

With the FolderStatus tweak installed from the BigBoss repo in Cydia, the status bar will be visible regardless of which folder you open on your home screen. While the background will blur out as it normally does, but the status bar will not leave your sight. This is important especially if you love keeping tabs on the signal strength, battery level and other info in the status bar at all times.

The tweak is absolutely free to download and use. But there's a small problem with it: it's only compatible with iOS 10 and 64-bit devices. If you have something that's a little older, then you are absolutely out of luck from getting the status bar luxury inside folders.

Give the tweak a spin and do let us know what you think about it. The tweak might not sound like much, but it's a heaven for those who don't want to lose track of status bar related information.
