Google Is Bringing Magic Eraser To iOS And Android Phones
Google Is Bringing Magic Eraser To iOS And Android Phones-December 2024
Dec 21, 2024 7:41 PM

Ever since Google went in-house with their Tensor chipset, the company brought a nifty feature known as Magic Eraser. As the name suggests, the feature would use AI to remove objects from within the pictures, and thanks to Tensor's stellar AI performance, it would do the job really, really well - even on intricate subjects. However, there was one problem; the feature was limited to Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 phones. But it seems like Google has decided to change its view and is now bringing Magic Eraser to Android and iOS devices.

You will soon be able to use Magic Eraser on all Android and iOS phones, as long as you are subscribed to Google One

So what's the catch here? Well, Google's decided that Magic Eraser should be available for everyone to use regardless of their device. The only catch here is that the feature is going to be available through Google One - meaning you will have to pay for it.

Google is going to roll out Magic Eraser to iOS and Android phones from 23rd February, later this month, and it will be available to all Google One subscribers. However, to sweeten the deal even more, users who own a Pixel 5a or older device can also use the tool without having any subscription to Google One.

In addition to that, Google has decided to bring several features to make its video editing experience even better. You are getting HDR video effects and some stellar collage styles; as expected, Pixel owners will get to enjoy these features without Google One subscription.

Now, the news of Magic Eraser coming on older devices or other Android or iOS phones should not be surprising. There are ways to get Magic Eraser working on Android phones already, but since Google has made this feature official, users will have a lot easier time using it. However, having Google One subscription is one thing that I am not sure most people would agree with.

Aside from Magic Eraser, the search engine giant also introduced a host of new features that are coming, and you can read all about them here in a detailed blog post.

Are you going to subscribe to Google One just so you can use Magic Eraser? Let us know your thoughts about paying for this feature in the comments below.
