Galaxy Tab S9 Plus Shows Up In New Benchmark Leak After Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, Featuring The Same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2
Galaxy Tab S9 Plus Shows Up In New Benchmark Leak After Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, Featuring The Same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-April 2024
Apr 18, 2025 2:45 PM

The Galaxy Tab S9 Plus will sit in the middle of Samsung’s upcoming flagship tablet trio, and thankfully, the company will treat it with the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 that is running on the top-end Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, according to the latest benchmark leak.

Like the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, the Galaxy Tab S9 Plus is running the ‘overclocked’ version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2

The Galaxy Tab S9 Plus was recently spotted on Geekbench 6, with the image below showing that the slate obtained a single-core and multi-core score of 2,005 and 5,343, respectively. The Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra is only marginally faster than the smaller tablet, according to an earlier leak, which suggests that larger-screen devices have better cooling capabilities. The Galaxy Tab S9 Plus is also faster than the Galaxy S23 Ultra, despite featuring the exact same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which is great to see.

These results below show that Samsung has not trimmed the performance of the Galaxy Tab S9 Plus just to sell more Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra units, meaning that both devices will serve their purposes and target markets accordingly. The Geekbench 6 benchmark also reveals that the tablet is running 12GB RAM, but it is unclear if this is the highest configuration that Samsung will provide to customers. Earlier, we reported that the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra would ship with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, so it is possible that the maximum allotted memory is only available in the larger model.

Galaxy Tab S9 Plus

The Galaxy Tab S9 Plus obtains around the same score as the larger Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, thanks to both tablets sporting the same high-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 2

Even if Samsung limits the Galaxy Tab S9 Plus to just 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, it is more than plentiful for the majority of users out there who want to experience a laptop substitute. The smaller display might not be beneficial for everyone, which is why the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra has its place, assuming you are willing to pay for it. Overall, we are impressed with this slate, and the fact that Samsung has not cut corners with the hardware has us thrilled for its future launch.
