With a bevy of upgrades and most importantly, a hefty design change, Samsung depended on some decent Galaxy S10 sales to help prop it back to the top of the smartphone rankings. If a new Counterpoint Research report is to go by, the momentum of the Galaxy S10 sales has carried well into the third month of the phone’s first quarter. The analytics firm claims that in its first three months, the Galaxy S10 series outperformed the Galaxy S9 lineup by a good 12 percent.

Galaxy S10 Plus Lead the Pack, Accounting for 42 Percent of the Total Sales Figure

After being unveiled in February, the Galaxy S10, the Galaxy S10 Plus, and the Galaxy S10e went on sale in March and were joined by the Galaxy S10 5G in April. The latest data shows that Galaxy S10 sales raked in 16 million units between March and May, outselling its predecessor by a fair margin.

The report also offers a breakdown, revealing to us which model was the most popular. According to the research, the Galaxy S10 sales were propelled thanks to the largest and most expensive variant out of the three, the Galaxy S10 Plus. The model made up 42 percent of the sales, followed by the Galaxy S10, with 32 percent of total sales, then the remaining 22 percent was occupied by the Galaxy S10e.

Counterpoint Research further said that the robust sales of the Galaxy S10 have also added to Samsung’s market share in the premium category. The company had 25 percent of the market in the first quarter, resulting in a 3 percent year-over-year increase. With positive Galaxy S10sale numbers, Samsung seems to have hit all the right notes, which explains the favorable consumer response. The latest crop of handsets offers a better camera, reverse wireless charging, as we all as an in-display fingerprint reader.

According to other reports, theGalaxy S10 rangehas performed well in numerous countries including the Netherlands, the UK, Brazil, and even China, a country where the South Korean giant has always struggled. Factor in the fact that consumers are a little skeptical about buying Huawei devices right now, and Apple’s latest iPhones do not offer modern features such as 5G connectivity and reverse wireless charging, and you have got the perfect recipe for the success of the Galaxy S10 series.

Samsung will no doubt be dependant on the popularity of this lineup to garner a sufficient number of sales of its Galaxy Note 10 range. The Korean tech behemoth is expected to launch two variants on August 7for select markets, while it continues to churn out improved models for price-sensitive markets.
