iOS 5 and iPhone 4S have been the center of attention for quite some time now. However, just like last year this time too Apple couldn’t launch a bug free iPhone 4S to the users. Contrary to last year’s antenna gate issue, this time it was however a software error in iOS 5 that caused battery drainage in iPhone 4S. Apple has now fixed the issue with their latest iOS 5.0.1 Build 9A406 specifically for iPhone 4S which deals with the issue.
Earlier, Apple tried to rectify the error by releasing iOS 5.0.1 but it didn’t seem too successful. Many people still complained that their batteries were draining at the usual rate. Apple then seeded iOS 5.1 Beta 1 and 2 for developers but it didn’t solve the matter as well. Now Apple has seeded iOS 5.0.1 Build 9A406 specifically for iPhone 4S only (an update to iOS 5.0.1 build released earlier for iOS 5 devices). This version contains no changes except for the fact that it handles the battery drain issue in iPhone 4S only.
You can update to iOS 5.0.1 by downloading the firmware from the direct link given below. Note that this is specifically for iPhone 4S and no other device. Connect your iPhone 4S to iTunes and you’ll be prompted for the update.
