Today, we’ve taken it upon ourselves to get our readers up to speed with iOS 12 GM without an Apple Developer Program membership. So let us lay down the options you have immediately if you want to download iOS 12 GM right now on your device.

Is Your Device Compatible with iOS 12 GM?

This is the first ever step before you take the second one. If your current device is 64-bit and can run iOS 11, then it will absolutely play nicely with iOS 12 GM too. But still, as a precautionary measure, check out the list posted here:iOS 12 Device Compatibility List

Download the iOS 12 GM Configuration Profile on Your iPhone or iPad

This is the easy part. Just download the iOS configuration profile from this link, install it onto your device after which you’ll be required to make a quick restart. Once done, make sure you are connected to a WiFi network, navigate to Settings > General > Software Update, and over here the iOS 12 GM will be waiting for your download approval. Simply tap on Download and Install and you’ll be good to go.

At this point I highly recommend taking a backup of your data using iCloud or iTunes just to be on the safe side of the fence. It’s a very rare thing that an over the air update goes wrong. So, rather being sorry later on, take the time out to secure your data in a location where everything will sit snuggly for restore later just in case you decide to downgrade back to iOS 11.4.1.
