Ahead of iOS 17 public beta release, Apple has seen fit to release beta 5 of its upcoming iOS 16.6, iPadOS 16.6, macOS Ventura 13.5, watchOS 9.6, and tvOS 16.6 to developers. The beta builds are available on all compatible Apple products and you can install them right now for free.

iOS 16.6 and iPadOS 16.6 beta 5 can be installed on your compatible iPhone through the stock Settings app. All you have to do is head over to Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates and install the relevant beta on your iPhone. Make sure that your Apple ID is linked to your Apple Developer account.

Other than iOS 16.6, Apple has also released beta 5 of its forthcoming watchOS 9.6 update to developers. Unlike iOS 16.6, you will have to install the proper configuration profile from the Apple Developer Center. Once the profile is downloaded, simply head over to the dedicated Apple Watch app on your iPhone and navigate to General > Software Update. Make sure that your Apple Watch fulfills the required prerequisites to install software updates.

Apple has also seeded macOS 13.5 beta 5 alongside iOS 16.6 to developers. The latest beta can be downloaded over the air after installing the proper configuration profile from the Apple Developer Center. Once the proper configuration profile is installed, the beta update will be available through the Software Update mechanism in System Settings.

Lastly, Apple has also seeded the sixth developer beta of tvOS 16.6. Developers can install the latest beta on their compatible Apple TV devices using a profile that can be installed using Xcode on Mac. As for what is new in the latest beta builds, it is too early to ask. We will wait for developers to tinker with the latest build and find everything new that the company has added in the latest build. Potentially, the update will focus on under-the-hood improvements and stability enhancements. The company has also released iOS 16.5.1 with major security fixes, so be sure to check that out as well.
