ASUS ROG Maximus III Extreme – Overclocking via Bluetooth
ASUS ROG Maximus III Extreme – Overclocking via Bluetooth-December 2024
Dec 28, 2024 4:04 AM

ASUS will soon be introducing Republic of Gamers (ROG) Maximus III Extreme, a P55-based motherboard for Intel® LGA1156 Core™ i7 and Intel® Core™ i5 Processors, during DreamHack Winter, 2009. This board features a novelty, it enables users to tweak system settings wirelessly over Bluetooth via a mobile phone. From the looks of things, this extension of ASUS' proprietary ROG Connect overclocking platform, RC Bluetooth is all set to reshape how enthusiasts approach the art of overclocking.

Maximus III Extreme

The four-way CrossFire-capable Maximus III Extreme is the newest addition to ROG's Maximus III Series of motherboards. It will like Maximus III Formula and Maximus III GENE feature ROG Connect; an exclusive overclocking interface that enables users to monitor and tune their main systems through a notebook or netbook via USB. But this time, ASUS has taken ROG Connect to the next level by enabling overclocking via Bluetooth, which means now all you need to overclock is a Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone, perhaps not all that user-friendly but still very cool.

In addition to that, ROG Connect's functionality will now also feature BIOS updating and recovery, diagram viewing, and on-the-fly hardware-level voltage and frequency adjustment. ASUS has also designed a whole new power supply for the board, no less than 11 digital PWM phases. According to the manufacturer, this solution combines the best from both worlds, the digital and the analog.
