Android 4.2.2 For Nexus 4 Spotted in Malaysia & Brazil
Android 4.2.2 For Nexus 4 Spotted in Malaysia & Brazil-September 2024
Sep 7, 2024 7:09 PM

Second Christmas came for some Fandroiders when their Google Nexus 4, an already hot Android handset these days, came beaming with something really unexpected: the Android 4.2.2!

Yes, it is not some attention-seekers’ news but it has just happened. A few of Malaysian and Brazilian owners of Nexus 4 were flabbergasted with the surprise that Nexus 4 brought to them. Android 4.2.2 for Nexus 4 was spotted in these regions when a few users reported that their sought-after devices came pre-installed with Android 4.2.2 operating system that hasn’t been made available to masses yet.

Reportedly, the screenshot showing the Android 4.2.2 was directly taken off from an 8GB Nexus 4 device intended for Malaysian consumers. Nexus 4 with 4.2.2 doesn’t carry any major differences as compared to usually-expected Nexus with Android 4.2.1except the dev-keys being appended to the end of the build number on the handset. Those developer keys could actually be an indication that the device was intended for development and test use, not for the consumers. The news did not catch any eyes until some Brazilian users also showed off exactly same version of Android on their Nexus 4 along with those same appended build numbers.

Currently the entire Android world at top is sitting at 4.2.1 so it is very unlikely that some fans would be able to head on over to the device information and reach to the world’s most sought after operating system which is yet to be rolled out to the masses. Such incidents have actually happened in the past but this it is the first time that a genuine oversight on the manufacturer’s side has happened rather than the device been manipulated by the users.

It could be that a number of testing devices slipped their ways out to consumers with manufacturer’s oversight or it could very well be an indication of releasing of Android 4.2.2. We are hoping for the latter. Fingers crossed!
